Claire's petrol Victoire
Claire owns the Victoire n°217. Her husband is Julien, the founder of Victoire. This frame is one of the only two that he built himself, back in 2016. After being used on a few road rides and for everyday commuting for four years, this Victoire 217 has enjoyed a real facelift for Christmas 2020 with a new paint job made by Julien in our workshop.
Every Victoire is designed and built to last over time. We can also add a few changes and upgrades if needed after a while to match the owner's tastes which may have changed.
Victoire n°217 is the perfect example for that. Here we added a new paint job, our new head badge, a new spoking for a new pair of wheels as well as the replacement of wear parts.
A new paint job to replace the original British green powder-coating was also an opportunity to test out some new technics. Claire's Victoire is pretty sober looking at first glance, but has got many details and multiples coats of paint.
Fork and head tube are coated with a special effect black metallic paint : under the light, this deep black changes into a beautiful midnight blue. We then added two coats of colourless paint loaded with glitter, electric blue and gold, to enhance the senes of deptht and the response to light.
The upper and lower tubes have a special transition. Made with the masking technic, these small "V" create the illusion of a color gradient.
This geometric color gradient becomes a special color which reacts to light : depending on the angle of incidence of the light, the color will change from a turquoise blue to a metallic purple. We can see some very different color shades during the different time of the day and the angle we watch the bike.
Logos and details have received similar treatment. Just like for the fork and head tube, the entire frame is coated with colorless paint with glitter.
Once all the coats of paint are done, the frame and the fork are varnished, matted, varnished again and polished to end up with a very shiny and even result.
We completed with new wheels with DT Swiss 350 hubs and H+Son rims. Pillar spokes in "Rainbow" finish matches the paint.
Claire's Victoire is ready for a new ride !
