Pascal‘s free-spirited road master
Pascal has been road cycling in Auvergne for many years. He was referred to us by his triathlete friends, when he was looking for a comfortable and unique bike, in his image. Being a passionate cyclist, Pascal spoke at length with us to develop his project from a cyclosportive bike to a more versatile model. Specifically, we opted for disc brakes and large section tires, to be able to ride comfortably on both roads and paths, while maintaining the responsiveness expected from a road bike.

To obtain a sporty frame, we built the frame’s front triangle with HSS series tubing from Columbus. The sizable lower tube (44mm) and its specific shape produced by hydroforming make it possible to stiffen the bottom bracket area, where a T47-standard shell was used.

The double-bend chainstays are borrowed from the Life series, because of their large section over a large part of the tube, which improves the responsiveness of the frame under load.

The Futura Gravel fork also comes from Columbus. It accepts large tires (700Cx 38mm) while maintaining a low weight and looks very close to the road model.

The components, installed on the bike by Tom, are overwhelmingly European, with a Campagnolo group and Fizik components from Italy, Hope hubs from the UK, and Mavic rims from France.

Pascal chose a stealth, deep matt black livery, highlighted by the red-anodized hubs.
From the first pedal stroke, the bike felt like it was built for me. I knew I was going to share some incredible moments with him. The further I go, the more I tell myself that I made the right choices. The bike and its components are a perfect blend of comfort, compliance, tailor-made, adaptability and consistency.
