Jean-Paul’s fine machine
Jean-Paul has been a triathlete and road-cyclist since 1990. He is no stranger to long distance-riding, as he regularly travels 200 to 600 km by bike, and also likes to cross passes in the Alps.
Jean-Paul already owned a touring bike, so he asked us to build a sporty, yet comfortable frame for day trips.
The top tube’s slope is reduced to the maximum, to obtain the timeless looks that were important to Paul. In order to obtain the best compromise between comfort and responsiveness, we have chosen round-shaped XCR tubes.
Jean-Paul is detail-oriented and wanted a sleek appearance for his machine. This why he opted for options such as the seat clamp integrated into the seatstays, or the internal cable-routing, to keep the lines as clean as possible.
The groupset comes from the American supplier Sram. The bearings are manufactured by our friends at Chris King. Headset, hubs and bottom bracket are covered by a lifetime warranty, just like the frame made in our workshop.
The wheels are built with rims made in France: the Mavic Open Pro Disc. These aluminum rims are fully machined for an unbeatable weight-to-strength ratio. They weigh only 10g more than the carbon version.
How I feel after the first 80km: the riding position is perfect! So I'm going to adjust my other bikes with exactly the same dimensions! In terms of nervousness and performance, you immediately feel that there is no loss of energy in the system. And you can let go of the handlebars with confidence, as this bike feels like it’s on rails.
