Dalsland Runt 2016

Dalsland Runt 2016

Last november, during the Rapha Pop-Up Store in Paris, we met Julien Verlay, Rapha Cycling Club (RCC) International Chapter Coordinator for Europe. He told us about an event in Sweden, the Dalsland Runt, and he invited us to join him for this second edition. Julien, Matthieu and our photographer Nicolas Joly made a Victoire team for the occasion.

This event was also the perfect occasion to test men and bikes for the Concours de Machines in a month, and test some part for the gravel and long distance trials. It was also a great pleasure to meet other riders and talk with them during these three days.

Dalsland Runt was created by the Wenersborg Racer Club and Johan Björklund, Rapha ambassador in Sweden. The first edition was a success, so many riders came this year. There were more than 120 cyclists from all around the Europe: Swedish, Norwegian, German, English, British, Belgian, French...and even Korean!

The first ride on Friday started from Vanersborg to Stora Strand, our base camp for the weekend. The place was at the heart of the Dalsland,  our playground for the weekend. The next day was the longest one, with a 235Km ride. During more than 10h, we rode on the gravel roads across this wild Swedish region covered by lakes and forests.

We will talk you about the specifications of each of our bikes this week. There were a lot of punctures and mechnical issues during the weekend, but anobody of us got any troubles.

You can discover below the photos of this adventure:

The route passed next to a large car cimetery, close to Bastnäs. These vehicles were abandonned by US soldiers at the end of World War 2.
